Village Manager – Relief Team

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Village Manager to join our Relief Team located in the Bowen Basin, QLD. This is a permanent full time role in a specialised team that relieves at the villages to fill operational requirements. The benefits of being a part of a relief team include, experience across different villages, exposure to different management styles, training in policy and procedure of all villages and many more.

All villages are supported by Facilities, Housekeeping, Administration, Guest Services, Health and Lifestyle and Food and Beverage departments. We are looking for a suitably experienced hospitality professional that will take the lead and ensure that the Village offerings are always of a high standard and, at the same time, maintain a focus on continuous improvement. This is a hand’s on role, so you should expect to be involved in all aspects of the Village development.

Key requirements of this role will be to assist in the management of employee development, client relations and pave the way for the continuous improvement in HSQE and ISO Quality Assurance Certifications.

To be considered for this role you must possess:

  • Significant experience as a Manager in the hospitality industry – High Volume, fast paced Operations in Accommodation services in the third party integrated services sector or similar is essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated successful management experience
  • A proven record in financial and budget management supported by strong administrative skills
  • Very strong people management ability (mentoring, performance management, disciplinary action etc.)
  • Highly developed interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Must be proficient in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience ensuring compliance to all company and statutory requirements (responsible for all Kitchen practices involving the management of all agreed health, safety, quality and environmental accreditations, including but not limited to AS/NZS 4801, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and HACCP)
  • A working knowledge of ordering, storing, preparing and delivering food and experience creating service schedules on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

Summary of duties & responsibilities

  • Roster – 14 days on 7 days off
  • Reinforce a safety culture from both a staff and client perspective
  • Coordinate, oversee production and presentation of meal service
  • Ensure compliance to all company and statutory requirements (responsible for all Kitchen practices involving the management of all agreed health, safety, quality and environmental accreditations, including but not limited to AS/NZS 4801, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and HACCP)
  • Participate in and manage compliance to KPI auditing
  • Achieve set bench marks in both Labour and consumable budgets
  • Manage and motivate catering staff

 Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Trade and or further qualifications in this field such as Business diploma
  • It is essential to have relevant work experience in high volume commercial catering practices and processes
  • Working knowledge of workplace Health and Safety requirements
  • Staff management, performance management, mentoring etc
  • A working knowledge of ordering, storing preparing and delivering food
  • Developed budgetary analytical skills
  • Computer skills and in particular Microsoft office suite
  • Experience creating service schedules on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management, problem solving and negotiation skills

This role involves providing consistent, quality grounds keeping service to the customers and clients of Civeo, including basic maintenance work, grounds maintenance and garbage collection.

Successful applicants will have the following:

  • LF Forklift Licence
  • Manual drivers licence, Class C desirable
  • At least one year’s work experience in a maintenance or trades assistant role, preferable in the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of equipment and materials routinely used in Facilities Operations (e.g. ride on mower, push mower, whipper snipper, blower, high pressure hose, small parts).

As the Materials and Compliance Officer, your role will be to ensure that the physical assets of Civeo are maintained to a level that protects the assets, provides a safe working and living environment, complies with relevant legislation and delivers a high level of customer satisfaction to the end user. Your role will include, but not be limited to, the ordering, receiving, recording, storage and distribution of stock, equipment and rotable spares at all Civeo villages. This position also assists with delivering compliance works, including RCD push button testing and test/tagging activities.

To be considered for this role you must possess:

  • Manual Drivers Licence, Class C
  • Forklift Licence
  • Certificate 3 in Warehousing Operations, or suitably experienced
  • Restricted Electrical Licence (or willing to attain)
  • Restricted Refrigerant Recovery Licence (or willing to attain)
  • Proficient skills in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate level experience with JDE (or similar, is preferable)
  • Effective communication skills
  • 5+ years’ experience of similar work, preferably in the maintenance, construction, mining or heavy industry disciplines; in larger or multi-site workplaces.
