To say that everyone should go home safe at the end of their day is a commonplace sentiment across most, if not all organizations, regardless of the industry they operate in. At Civeo and its family of companies, it is at the core of our safety philosophy.
Civeo is proud to have recently marked a significant achievement: three consecutive years without a Lost Time Incident (LTI) across our North American operations, over 22,000,000 employee exposure hours.
“Safety is one of our core values and ingrained in our culture, but at the end of the day, it is each and every person who is living up to that value in their day-to-day activities,” said Grant Pelletier, Vice President, Safety and Sustainability at Civeo. “I am very proud of our employees for working together safely.”
LTI is a term widely used in occupational health and safety practice, guidelines, and regulations, as well as across industries. It refers to incidents where an employee is injured on the job and is unable to work due to the injury sustained.
While marking the three-year milestone is a cause for celebration, it’s also a time to reflect on what it has taken to achieve and to renew Civeo’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all employees every day.
“The work to foster an environment where safety thrives never stops,” Pelletier said. “Our strategy, Making Zero Count, is based on leaders setting the tone by demonstrating safety in their own behaviour, providing the foundation and resources required to continually improve on our systems while fostering a culture that embraces those systems. The well-being of our employees is at the core of how we operate and is an effort we relentlessly strive to accomplish together with everything we do.”
