Civeo’s responsibilities include creating new choices to suit consumer tastes. We offer trending, new-to-market fresh food products and culinary concepts to improve quality, cost, and safety and to augment the resident experience.
Our aim is to guide residents towards healthier choices and empower them to take ownership of their health in a way that is sustainable and meaningful. We do this through a program that comprises multiple educational touchpoints, across both front-of-house resident interaction and back-of-house Civeo staff training.
On-trend means we use innovation and productivity know-how to meet the needs and desires of a new generation of residents. We create a holistic food culture that improves remote site worker satisfaction and employee retention. Menus are flexible and rotate on a regular basis to allow variety and are reflective of seasonal changes and the prevention of menu fatigue.
Menu compilation is not solely about the food; it encompasses the whole eating experience, including key attributes within the dining area such as ambience, décor, and general design. Civeo’s capabilities extend into the bespoke interior design of more aesthetically pleasing, holistic environments and surroundings that improve residents’ psychological wellbeing.
Health & Wellbeing
The health and wellbeing of workers is not just a responsibility of companies like Civeo and our clients, it’s imperative for success in business. Civeo understands that a company is only the sum of its individuals, which is why we have a history of trying to create a healthy and active workplace that encourages leaves workers to leave in as good, if not better, fitness and wellbeing state than when they arrived.
This includes providing management and support of mental health throughout our villages. To achieve this, we are able to implement our health & wellbeing program to take control of residents’ health and assist their bodies in reaching their full potential. This encompasses getting bodies and minds moving, and making the right eating choices for both physical and mental health & wellbeing.
Civeo cafes are multifunctional, relaxed spaces with comfortable seating. Our cafes are the place to enjoy a coffee, quick snack, or business meeting and are a great spot to talk to family during downtime. Civeo will happily assist with refurbishments or upgrades to existing retail fixtures and racking. We will also implement efficient shelving modules for an optimised resident experience. Civeo promotes a core range of products focused on alternatives to single-use plastics, including reusable food containers, coffee and drink bottles, reusable straws, and biodegradable/compostable personal care ranges.
Our taverns play a pivotal role in the social lives of residents on remote sites. They’re a social networking destination where people meet to eat, drink, and watch sports. As Australians start to embrace the concept of ‘mindful’ drinking, Civeo places added importance on promoting non-alcoholic beer, wine, and ready-to-drink categories. A range of ‘mindful’ meals can also feature a range of snacking options, including nuts, salty snacks, and jerky ranges, as well as user-pay popular traditional tavern dishes and menu items for purchase.
At Civeo we’ve instilled an ‘in-house culture’. This is based on the premise that Indigenous engagement should be about people-building capability and capacity, and also be through additional third-party service opportunities which we provide.

Working on a remote site requires stringent cleaning standards in every space, from living quarters to the dining room and recreation areas. In this type of environment, bacteria can easily spread, therefore the delivery of the most technically competent and professional service is of the utmost importance. Civeo can also provide extended support with industrial cleaning, and supply appropriate equipment, products, and relevant training in this technical area.
Civeo understands that residents have high comfort, cleanliness, and safety expectations. Our housekeepers are trained to meet specific requirements and, at a minimum, all personnel are trained in chemical handling.
Providing an efficient accommodation service is an essential part of the village management process. Working in conjunction with the site administration team, specific attention is required to manage the room allocation requirements efficiently and effectively, in line with employees’ fly in fly out rosters.
Civeo can provide a computer-generated accommodation package that can be tailored to suit the exact requirements and layout on-site. To assist with this process, the system can produce various reports to aid the recording of headcount numbers on site.
Housekeeping and Janitorial Services
Civeo maintains a highly flexible approach to housekeeping and janitorial services, where schedules are tracked daily and continually updated. Comprehensive plans are in place for the various areas. To give our residents a stay that is as close as possible to a home-away-from-home, our services allow for frequently scheduled linen changes and meticulous dusting for interior dust control.
Building Maintenance and Asset Management
Civeo has an obligation to ensure that equipment and facilities are kept working in a condition that enables a smooth and successful operations on-site. Key elements include:
- Job reporting, creation, registration, scheduling, dispatch, and completion.
- Computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) entry.
- Service provider management.
- Operations/maintenance coordination; and
- Reporting, review, and continuous improvement.
Civeo’s comprehensive Environmental Management Plan (EMP) covers all key environmental issues which may occur on site. Key areas include recycling, waste management, hydrocarbons, chemicals, etc. This demonstrates our commitment and experience when dealing with these related issues.
Whether it’s a 30-day drilling campaign or the commencement of a 20-year mining operation, Civeo’s Integrated Services has the team, experience, and rigorously tested plans to support the rapid and safe mobilisation of new remote sites.
A clearly defined mobilisation strategy and plan is integral to the operational process and acts as a comprehensive support tool, used in conjunction with the HSE Safety Management and Quality Assurance Plans. Together these form the basis of the details and information required to mobilise and demobilise contracts. This results in efficient, safe, and effective outcomes and includes requirements such as linen, equipment, general supplies, deployment of staff, vehicles, and additional items to commence the services on-site.
