Mining

We serve mining projects in some of the world’s most active met coal, iron ore, and precious metals producing regions in Canada, Australia, and the United States.

Digging Deep for Rest & Relaxation

By their nature, large-scale mining projects require a significant labour force working away from home, often in some of the most logistically remote locations on the planet.

Civeo’s mix of accommodations and hospitality services can scale as projects move through the resource exploration, site construction, operations, and decommissioning lifecycle.

Civeo’s accommodations and hospitality services are critical to ensuring a comfortable, healthy environment for every guest while living and working away from home.

Diavik Diamond Mine

Lac de Gras, Northwest Territories

Diavik Diamond Mine sits 200 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle on Lac de Gras. The mine has a deposit of some of the world’s most sought-after diamonds and is one of the most logistically challenging sites to reach in the Canadian northwest. In a joint venture with the Yellowknives Dene First Nation, Civeo provided temporary accommodations and catering services for nearly 1,200 people at the peak of the site’s construction. The joint venture also provided support for the mine’s ongoing operations by building the four wings of Diavik’s 264-person permanent accommodations complex while continuing to provide food and hospitality services.

Brucejack Mine

Northwestern British Columbia

Brucejack Mine is located on a glacier in northern British Columbia at an elevation of 4,765 feet. Civeo was contracted to design, manufacture, install, and operate permanent lodging to accommodate the mine site’s 330 workers. With a relentless 240 days of snow each year, roof systems for the modular complex were engineered to withstand the incredible snow loads. Guest comfort was essential in the design of the living quarters to keep the persistent cold at bay. A full commercial kitchen, dining facility, and recreation centre were also included to ensure workers had a balanced mix of amenities to enjoy.
